Cannot complete bounce in Pro Tools M-Powered 7.1

Hello, I have never had this problem before and I was working with pro tools since 2006. Here is what happens, when I select a small area of a session, such as 2 bars, and if I select convert during bounce, it will bounce and everything will go by normally. However, if I select a larger section such as a few bars or a full song while keeping it on "convert during bounce", it will play all the way through and the file will be created, however, after it is done, the file will be deleted. I witnessed this happen many times and the bounced file would disappear as soon as the bouncing stopped right before my eyes.

Another story is when I select convert after bounce. Here, it will create 2 files with gibberish, and after the bouncing is done, it will give me an error message saying: "Could not complete the Bounce To Disk command because Assertion in "\code\aztec_Lomax\AlturaPorts\NewFileLibs\Ff\Audi o\FF_Aud line 33." This only happens when a large selection, such as a song, is selected.

This mess only happens in one session and every other one works fine. Can someone please tell me how I can fix this?

why "bouncing" is still incorporated is beyond me.

I am really hoping for a complete re-write of this program to get it up to today's standards at least.

So what happens if you select Convert After Bounce? That puts less strain on the computer. Also, don't try to do other stuff on the computer while the song/track bounces(just in case you are trying to bounce a track while surfing the web or something)

Not that ANYONE would advise it, but I can name 3 other DAW apps where I CAN browse the web (with antivirus running0..while, playing back, rec more tracks,and rendering even...a rather beefy mix. All to completion with quality.

There are PT issues and I'd sure love to see a rewrite of this program. it's overdue imo.
