Default Graphics glitches with 2 monitor setup in 12.7

Curious if anybody else has encountered this. I'm running a two monitor setup. ANY Protools window that I drag between the two displays gets messed up especially in the header section. Plugins as well as edit, mix. If I close the window, then reopen it where I "left' it, it's fine. But will be screwed up again when I move it back to the other window.

This happens only in the Protools application.

thanks for any feedback

Also just installed the recent Sierra update that mentioned graphics fixes, but no improvement.

The third image looks like it could be either a bad driver, bad graphics card connection, or damaged GPU. The other two just look like it may be settings.

When did this start happening?

Exactly when I upgraded to 12.7 and Sierra. NEVER saw it before. So naturally I'm thinking....

(edited) that doesn't mean of course that that's what it is for sure, just that it's only recently, and for the first time

I'm suddenly thinking about dust. As I said in the reply above, I've never had this happen before--and I've had the same setup for 4-5 years.

But I'm wondering about dust getting in and shorting out some connections....

thanks for the feedback

What if you go back to 12.6?

I guess what I'm saying is you need to identify at exactly what point it became a problem. PT Update, Sierra update, etc. So if you install 12.6 and it still exists, then did you also do an Sierra update around the same time? If so, can you roll it back? Also, if you've got one of the pre Trashcan Mac Pro's you could open it up and check to make sure that the graphics card contacts are clean (i use an eraser for this), and that it is firmly connected to the motherboard. With the Trashcan Mac (which is what I own), I have not had the need to do any maintenance yet, so I am not sure how you would go about it.

Well I'm reluctant to roll back. Curious because I had the impression that things ran generally smoother with the last update, although it seems like I'm getting back to having more CPU errors--

But no real show-stopper issues thus far. I vacuumed the hardware inside (build-up of dust) and already noticed a change in the mix window, which was the only one that got the static-y lines. Now it looks like the image below. The situation with plug-in windows remains the same. Again these issues only occur when I drag an open window from one screen to another, and only in Protools. And if I close and reopen the window in question without moving it, the window comes back properly.

I'm not truly qualified to answer but have a couple ideas:

Open System Prefs > Displays and see that both monitors are running at "Default for display" resolution.

If the Mac is driving both displays try swapping outputs and see what happens. (Then try swapping display cables.)

If you have a graphics card driving one or both, reseat it.

That's all I got...
