Default Mixdown - mixdown pitch shift problem

Hey,

So I mix a song down. When I drag and drop the stereo file into either Toast or iTunes for burning, the pitch & tempo are both increased to disasterous/hilarious effect.

I'm recording at 24/48, converting to 16/44.1.

anybody else have this problem?

I've tweaked with every parameter I know of, tried bouncing to different file types (.wav, aiff, etc.) all to no avail... it's as if PT is "stamping" the file with the wrong metainformation and when these other programs import, bad things happen.

Mac OS 10.4, PT 7.3.1, Intel Quad core, digi002, pet salamander, frayed neurons.

...help...

thanks!

My PT session is at 48khz, clocked to 48khz external AD converters...

I am in perfect sync while tracking & mixing.

What am I doing wrong? I do not want to do this extra step for every mix - life is too short.

Should I switch to internal clocking when mixing down?
