Default ethernet...

I would like to transfer OMF files from an AVID editing system to a Pro Tools 24/mix system using ethernet. Has anyone tried this. Digi has not as of today. I am trying to cut down the number of steps in volved in the transfer process. also, what about using the 100 base , faster ethernet as opposed to the 10 base MAC ethernet??? Help...john

Default Re: ethernet...

We've got three systems on an ethernet hub, and regularly send anything from single mixes to full sessions back and forth. We've got old 10baseT at the moment, so it takes a while to send 500MB sessions, but it works everytime. Got some new B&Ws on the way, and will be taking advantage of those 100baseT ports!
