Mono mult output bug in PT 12.8?

I have a mono track for 2-pop and tones that uses multiple output assignments to put tones and 2-pop directly on the re-record tracks. But for some reason, I can't mult to more than (10) outputs!. This is serious. That track usually goes to 40-50 outputs. Anyone else seeing this?

My other multiple output assignments seem to be behaving, but maybe that's because they're all assigned to fewer than (10) outputs.

Wasn't seeing this in 12.7.x.

That is a reported bug issue on 12.8. In my case I cannot use the alt shift output to change the output channels on big sessions without an error.

I tested in a new session. Anything above (10) mults is dropped after you save, close and re-open.

Hey Avid! This was the only bug in 12.8. Not fixed in 12.8.1.

That said, 12.8 stability was extraordinary, but please, fix the mult bug.

Same here. This is a real drag.

Only work around that I can find at the moment is to import the pop/tones track from a session that was not saved in 12.8. Do this just before making stems. However once you close and re open the session, you're back to square one.

Hi Guys,

I've got a workaround for this...

You can also assign outputs for your tones via a send. You can control select multiple outs on a send. You have the same limitation on how many "mults" you can have per send (16 discreet?) before they drop off. Just make another send and continue on.

Let's hope they fix this!

I thought it was clever to have one track feed tones and 2-pops to all the re-record tracks. But ever since 12.8, I've made that track inactive and just put the tones and 2-pops right on the re-record tracks and then 'Prepare DPE Tracks" consolidates them right in. Maybe that's a better way. What do you think Farhoof?
