Default Cutting/Moving my session to fit a new video edit

Hey there all,

Ive been using protools a long time, but I have a long way to go on the knowledge.
I have a client that decided to reedit picture after I gave them a nearly completed mix of their short film. They didnt add much, but they added some time in the first scene and took out some time halfway through.

I want to cut and scoot my session over to fit the new edits. I have volume/reverb/EQ/other automation on many tracks and I obviously don't want to loose that.

Can anyone point me to a thread that covers this? Or provide some words of experience?

Mac 10.11.6
ProTools 12.5.2

Default Re: Cutting/Moving my session to fit a new video edit

1.) Load the old and new videos. Use the ref audio from the videos as a guide to where the cuts are. Visually compare videos. Throw down some markers. Switch to grid edit mode with a resolution of one frame.

2.) Edit group all the tracks that need to move. Set them to waveform view. Make sure 'Automation Follows Edit' is on. Start conforming (note that aux automation won't move unless audio tracks are in the edit group).

Or instead of step 2, open Time Operations (option-1) and conform in that window. This is safer, but the downside is that it will chop everything.
