Default Dolby Atmos

If Dolby Atmos is the future of music and film/tv post-production... when will we get Dolby Atmos Windows compatibility?

Most ProTools users are now on Windows:

Avid please integrate this directly into ProTools Ultimate!

Send Dolby an email to add your name to the queue with all the rest of us asking when. Expect the normal form reply that at this time it's only available for Mac.

I'm pretty sure that you can run Atmos with Windows Pro Tools as long as you use an external renderer (Dolby Atmos Mastering Suite). Dolby Atmos Production Suite for single-system mixing is Mac only, and it's up to Dolby to make a Windows version of that, not Avid.

@Led: I did write to Dolby

@reichman: I know that I could run an external RMU (on a Windows machine might I add!)... but this is not my point.

My point is that if Dolby and Avid wants to push this technology on everyone in our business, make it cross platform. I dont want this to become a mac vs pc thing. I enjoy working on ProTools on both platforms. I want that to continue. And to me the best way I can conceive that happening is for Avid to integrate the DAPS directly in ProTools.

My 0.02$

If anyone agrees, please write to both Avid and Dolby so that they make it happen

Franky
