Preferences TC/E setting change sound when using elastic audio?
Hi.
I use elastic audio for changing tempo of a track. All tracks are set to ticks and to polyphonic. The TC/E setting in Preferences is set to Avid Time Shift. Lets say, If I change that to Avid TC/E or Waves sound shifter (which are my other options) Will it have any effect on the audio stretching done by elastic audio. Or is this plug in setting for something else? Thanks |

I don't believe that setting affects anything when you change tempo. I also think using Polyphonic for everything is not a good idea. Things that are single note(like a voice or a bass) should use the Monophonic option and drums/percussion should use the Rhythmic option. Depending on how drastic you change the tempo, you may also find you need to replace some tracks(re-record at the desired tempo) as some things will not be conducive to big changes. Just my opinion

@albee1952 Thanks. thats cool info. I will be looking into using different plugins. Yeah my use will be for composition purposes (and some of it will be midi) and everything will be re-recorded for sure. What about transposing, maybe the settings will have effect there?

The TC/E pref determines what plug-in will be used when the trim tool is in TC/E mode - nothing to do with EA
