Default Help Configuring Rosetta 800 & PT 9

So I moved up from an LE based system with a 003 and a Rosetta 800. Sold the 003. And using the Rosetta via the FW card.

Having difficulty assigning inputs/outputs on the system. Sessions are playing back through the Mac Pro speaker. When I want them coming from analog out 1-2.

Am I also able to use the ADAT on my Rosetta for a monitor controller?

Thanks in advance.

You might be better off using the first 2 analog outs for your monitor controller. If you use the digital outs, you would want to use a d/a converter that's at least as good as the Rosetta, or you start to defeat the purpose. If you did decide to do that, you might have better luck using 2 of the AES outputs into something like the Dangerous Dbox.

Thanks. I'm using a TC Electronic BMC-2 DAC. ADAT out of the Rosetta into the BMCS-2.

I can't seem to achieve my analog inputs going into PT and having my 2 bus mix coming out of the ADAT output.

Anyone know what I'm doing wrong???

Have you tried the TOS output to The BMC 2?

I assume you got you system set for protools to see the rosetta.
(audio midi setup and/or hold "N" while starting protools to select the rosetta)

The advice to use your analog outs is good, that may save you a bunch of headaches.

It's kind of tricky because the rosetta considers the FW card(ie protools) to be a digital output of the box, and the digital ouputs are selected together so complicated routing can turn into a feedback loop.

There is an advanced option where you can send say analog 1-6 to Option(protools) and 7-8 from Option to AES but you'll lose two inputs and make it easy for feedback.
