Exclamation Importing Audio via Drag and Drop?

Hey guys!

I'm trying to work with PT 9 on windows 7 Professional x64. I had several issues, which i could solve. (I will post them soon).

One annoying thing remains on my list:

I can't drag and drop audio from the windows explorer in the timeline or regions-list.
The mouse-pointer switches to the "not allowed" pointer.
Trashing prefs, reinstalling didn't fix it.

Importing with the Workspace works.
I think importing with the import window won't work too.
Can't check this out because the sandra report is running. (I'll post it later)

I think before i was upgrading from PT 8. it worked but was really slow and it sometimes crashed.

I really searched the hole internet. Nobody seems to have the same issue.
In Postpro this is really uncomfortable, because i have to import many files.

Thank you for helping me!

Import via Strg+Shift+I doesn't work either.

Avid can't be serious to ship the software without these features.

Works here on the same OS but only when dragging to the track list.

Strange.
I hope this will be fixed in an update soon.
It's a shame!

I just loaded some tracks recorded as just WAV files and changed the sample rate on the way in, using "Import". Worked fine on PT9.

I don't think drag and drop is the best way to import.

Ok. Importing with the Import Window works.
This was down to me since i'm new to Pro Tools.

But for me it would be the best and easiest way.
And i'm used to do so from other DAW-Software.

So is it simply not possible, or is this an issue with my setup?

This may sound like strange advice but check that you've got QuickTime correctly installed. It not get the latest version and install it. I had a similar problem in the past.

Worth a shot. You never know.

I was going to suggest the exact same thing. Pretty sure this is the problem being encountered here.
