I am using my M-Powered (red) iLok with Pro Tools 9 as we speak. Indeed it works fine. As said above, an iLok is an iLok.

I know that the LE upgrade asks for you hardware serial no to upgrade. What doe the M-Powered procedure ask for?

I found this info on Avid PT9 Store page. It seems both crossgrade versions (MP and LE) need iLok ID and hardware interface serial Nr. when activating PT9:

" Please note: An iLok USB Smart Key (sold separately) is required to use Pro Tools 9. Additionally, you will need to enter your iLok ID and hardware interface serial number in order to activate your software. You will not be able to activate this product if you do not have these."

+1 same here. Wish they made a much smaller iLok though...something that didn't stick a clear 1.5" out of my laptop....the new iLoks look nice, but what about something even smaller? Honestly, there are 128gb flash drives, and they couldn't go with something based on that?

Not that I'm complaining, it works, but hey, I can dream right?

I'm with ya. I try to use it with a short USB ext. cable when I can, but when I'm not using one, I dread the day I or something hits the iLok, snapping it in half, possibly breaking the USB port in the process.

But now that the hardware dongle is gone, I'll take it.

somehow the metal around the USB port on my iLok got bent in transport, and I noticed it only because it didn't quite go into the USB port the right way...quick fix with a pair of pliers, but it might be time for me to stick it in a little box from now on. would be nice if it fit on one of my keychains too, but it doesn't have a USB cap for the end, and I don't trust the plastic.

meh.
