Next to impossible to find the information I need.
Avid Audio staff agree...users agree...
Products aren't up to date...searches send you on a rollercoster back to where you began...qualifications are nowheresville..an atrocious site that needs a remedy immediately. Just brilliant. Fix it.

To paraphrase Jack Nicholson's Joker character in the first Batman movie: "What the Avid website needs is an enema".

A corporate web site is Marketing 101 in today's world. If a company can not successfully and easily present itself and it's products on the interenet, then the writing is on the wall...

It's incredible that AVID is so incapable of learning. About 5 years ago, they appeared (on their website) with a public apology for not having been listening to their clients. Promising that the future would repair that. Looking back they haven't been able to achieve that at all. Their (AVID before this digidesign is AVID campaign) main video app kept descending on the popularity list and just about any aspiring cutter bought Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere. Instead of looking into WHY folks did NOT like their video app they just took all their BETTER SELLING daughters and brought them all home....

Here is a devastating but true analogy...

1) Man Meets Wife and marries and they as a family become successful.
2) As the marriage looses its initial glow man and woman decides to add 4 daughters to re-ignite the glory-days and fix ALL the problems
3) 16 years later daughters are moving on. Mom and Dad are still high after the re-ignition and are failing to recognize that their daughters, as of now, are in possession
of true potential of becoming extremely successful ON THEIR OWN.
4) However, 4 years later, after marriage hits an all time low as husband starts drinking and wifey results to cheap hotel affairs. Communication has left the building.

Instead of DEALING with the REAL problems..... Mom and Dad ORDERS all daughters to return
home..... Believing THIS will fix the problems.....

In this scenario..... A DIVORCE would be the appropriate key to turn !

Denial is a mighty enemy

PS ----- I think AVID would have done better by re-branding AVID to digidesign !!!

Not likely when all the CEO knows is business merger and acquisition policy mixed in with a small smattering of film and video company knowledge.

I kinda have to agree.....

Those black polo shirts with the little AVID logo on the dudes and dudettes at NAMM resemble some dark side cult in a bad science fiction movie.

Seemingly clueless about positive image strategy....
which also should include...GREAT...FREE customer service to it's valued clientele.

also...we are not bashing...were trying to help cuz we need you but at some point

(and it may be sooner than any of us think)

massive numbers of us will move to another source of professional toolery.

(it kinda has already started)

I completely agree. The new Avid site is so bad as to be unusable.

the Avid Audio/Video /Media Composer /M-Audio /VENUE /Interplay /Pinnacle Studio/ Euphonix/ Sibelius Digidesign /Pro Tools website is really straight ahead and easy to navigate.

It's obvious that pro tools is their highest priority -
