PT Converting Mono to Stereo and Back Problems
I believe there is a problem with Protools,
unless I have missed it or something, but here is what I believe Digidesign forgot to implement into Protools. Lets say you have a Mono Instrument track and you have a Bassline playing on that track. And after a while you decide to change the bassline sound, but here is the problem and where disasters happens. You want to change the track to Stereo. But Protools does not have a option to convert or change the track to Stereo. A user should be able to convert Instrument and Audio tracks on the fly from Mono to Stereo or Stereo to Mono without having to go through hell to do so. I checked all the menus in Protools and have not found any features that lets a person change the track from Mono to Stereo or Stereo to Mono. For either Audio or Instrument tracks. Can someone please tell me what am I missing here.? thanks.

Re: PT Converting Mono to Stereo and Back Problems
Here is a couple of things I do. One is to simply duplicate the track giving you 2 panned mono tracks that can be treated as a stereo pair in the conventional way. Or you can insert a mono to stereo plug-in like a chorus and use it in bypass mode.

Re: PT Converting Mono to Stereo and Back Problems
Thank you Tom,
even though its just a work around. I wish Digidesign can just implement it into Protools instead of doing it this way. I should be able to just [right click] the track where the name is at and select the "convert menu" as it will open a new menu with [Convert Track to Stereo] [Convert Track to Mono] [Convert Instrument Channel to Mono] [Convert Instrument Channel to Stereo] [Convert Aux Channel to Stereo] [Convert Aux Channel to Mono] A whole list So on and so forth......etc etc/ You get my point. .
