Venue - M Power and recording

I have protools M power and M audio interfaces installed on my windows vista 32 bit business system. I would like to use the same computer to record via firewire from a Venue system.
What are my options ?
Do I need to install protools LE ?
Is protools LE going to be compatible with M power ?

Hi,

LE and M-Powered are separate apps, so you will need to install LE in order to record from a VENUE system. It is possible to have both LE and M-Powered installed on the same PC.

Which Venue system are you using currently, likewise what PTLE hardware interface do you have as well as which M-Audio interface for your Mpowered? OR, do you not have an LE interface at all?

I have M audio 1814 firewire and fast track pro, I do not have any LE hardware but regularly use all venue systems and want to be able to record.
I suppose I need to install protools LE on a separate partition of windows vista, has anyone done this ??

gotcha. As Sheldon mentioned, you can install both. Fortunately with Venue you only need to connect the firewire cable. PRoviding that they have a FW option on the Venue, then having the software installed on your laptop is all that is needed. The question then is, can you get that software yourself since you technically don't have a license for it? hmmm

He 'could' get an M-Box 2 Micro which would give him LE, no?

M-Box Micro is what i did, record on Venue, and then playback/mix at home on the M-Box micro, flawless solution
