mbox with intel imac and external hardrive setup

hi group,
im new here and to macs, i searched the faqs here hoping to find a setup guide that included the new imac 20" with an mbox and an external firewire drive. i looked on the mac site too but no luck. i read there should be a dedicated recording drive. i believe it would be the external. do i install the actual protools program on the external or does it go inside the mac? also should i load the software from my disks or download it from the inet? the intel mac didnt exist when the mbox protools stuff was released and i dont wish to create any compatability issues. thanks for any help

You install your protools software to your computers internal hard-drive and then save your protools sessions to your external drive. make sure you have downloaded the protools 7.1.1 upgrade from the store and you can install it straight from the cd or from the hard drive.
