I just wanted to share with you guys that i have been working without ANY kind of problems with my system for over a year now , I have produced 13 Albums of contemporary christian music in spanish on the past 10 months with my Emachines Laptop and the Digi 002R.

Now, i´m using the Mbox to Rec vocals in location, it is working perfectly without any kind of noise or problem, I always use Soft synths and work at 128 samples (buffer setting).

Just being positive....

I`m thinking of buying the New Gateway 7426 with the Athlon 3700+/ 1gb of Ram......

I've had my eye on that one as well but I just can't justify a new laptop at the moment. One nice thing is that the E-Machines CPU's are upgradeable. When I need to I could probably slap a 3400 in and clock it a bit to get to the same level.

I still want one though...

There were a few guys over here http://notebookforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=77 that upgraded theirs awhile back.

It will probably void the factory warranty but by the time you will need to do it you'll be past that anyways.

WKG....do you have the Outpost 1gb Ram installed in your Laptop?

Do you use Soft-synths like SampleTank or Reason???

Yes. I still have the 256 on the inside slot, I didn't have the nerve to open it up and change it. Of course with the peformance results on the 3400-3700 chips I am rethinking that at the moment.

I use Sampletank and Reason occasionally but not that often.
