Neve 55 or 66 are they still quallity compared to Avalon 737 or Millennia STT1

My basic question is I need pre amps with EQs would I better off buying a NEVE 55 or 66 series console or are the new racked pres better. like the
Millennia STT1or Avalon 737 something lke that. I only need the mic pres and EQs possibly the monitor section of the console. Anybody have experience with these. What level of sound quallity should I expect from these NEVE boards
I just need the pres EQs direct outs monitor section.. As you can probably tell I have never even been in the same room as a NEVE so any help would be apprieciated

Neve and Millennia are both good units but different animals

I've never liked the 737, always felt it was a poser box to jump on the "tube" band wagon

Never liked the 737 either. Kinda cold sounding.

737 is rather flat sounding. Got rid of mine after a few months...a long time ago.

Love my Millennia and my Tab Funkenwerk V78M.

Hello.

I worked on a 66 for year and really liked it. Gain recall is useful and there is stacks of head room in the master section. Pre-amps and summing are darker sounding then vintage pre amps but sound great once set up.

Neve, IMP, is a great package for the money.

Avalon - should have stayed a Roxy Music album IMHO..fizzy sounding
