Control 24 and auto write on stop command not work

Hi,

According to the manual, While pressing CTL/CLUTCH press 1 of the start/all/end functions will perform auto write on stop command! but it doesn't seem to be working with 6.9cs1 osx10.3.8

P.S. Digi, don't suppose the bug since 6.7 where the control 24 and command 8 both stop working when the plugins presets dialogue is open (and displays "pro tools has a dialogue on screen) is likely to be fixed ever!!?

Make sure that you're aware of the differences in the behaviour change since 6.9 -- this is now a one shot command unless you use the Option modifier.

Thanks for your time, as always much appreciated.

I'm reading the 6.9 section on control 24 and this is what it says is suppose to happen!

On Control|24, the Write to Start, End, or All On
Stop modes can be configured from the Write
Automation To section of the control surface.
To configure Automation Write On Stop modes to
disable after an automation pass:
1 Hold Start (Windows) or Control (Macintosh)
and press the Start, End, or All switch in the
Write Automation To section. The switch flashes
to indicate that Write On Stop is enabled.

This is just not happening for me!? i follow these instructions and get the meassage "manual write to all can only be executed during playback"

I have tried all the modifier keys whilst stopped and during playback and i either get the massage above or the session stops and then the auto is written.
