5.1 setup with PTHD and Yamaha DM2000

Anyone having a setup with a DM2000 and PTHD? I wanna start to mix on 5.1 too. Now I use the yamaha to control the speakers, should I send 6 channels from hd to dm and make it redirect the signal to the speaker? mix on hd? on dm? booth?

Does you know some place in internet to start on Surround topics?
