Digi Midi i/o
I am currently using an emagic unitor 8 mk2 which at this point is unsupported and discontinued. The guy I work for likes to work using an mpc4000 but also likes to work in protools simultaneously. Here is an example. We are doing a remix and he likes to have the acapella track open in protools so he play it wild along with his mpc loop just to grab a quick feel check. Our problem is that whenever protools is open, the mpc 4000 loses its midi capabilities. If we recorded a track on the mpc using the sounds of the motif keyboard or any other sound module it will not playback. It will not see midi input at all. Its almost like protools hijacks the unitor. Does the digidesign midi i/o do this as well?? Does it have a stand alone mode?? We are running G5 quad, OSX 10.4.5, PT 7.1cs8. The mpc has the latest software available as does the unitor.

Re: Digi Midi i/o
If this was os9 i would suggest make sure "run midi in background is checked" but with osx i dont know if thats an option. Is midi through enabled in Pro Tools?
