Oscar -
You are definately wandering into the "not tested, not supported" zone. Digidesign does not test or support any processor upgrade cards or firewire. Firewire testing will most likely get underway in the near future, but as it stands now, it is not supported.

Default firewire

I'm thinking about adding a firewire card to my 7300/sonnet G3300 and getting a lacie firwire drive. has anyone got any experience with this set-up (using firewire drives for audio)--any problems or things I should be aware of?
thanks

I'm using a G4/450 with PTMix and a VST 37gig Firewire drive with excellent results so far but have not given the drive enough of a torture test to actally say it works as well as a ATA66 or SCSI UW. I had to replace my first VST drive which had a fault and might have been from a bad batch of drives but the replacement works very well indeed! Be very wary and don't buy anything you can't send back if it doesn't work!!!!!!!!
Good luck!
Don

Guys, keep in mind that most Firewire drives are only 7200rpm, which is not enough speed to play many tracks of audio.
The 74gb APS Firewire drive is great for online storage of data though
