Control|24 and ProControl with Pro Tools 11?

Keep voting people. This affects everyone. Especially Avid. Most people I know will not buy any new Avid controller because of this decision to kill these controller personalities. They don't know when theirs will be next to get the axe, so why invest in a new one.

This 591K of code could be converted in an hour by one the software guys.
Even the HUI driver was included with PT11 for god's sake.

C'mon Avid - help yourselves and us in one single, brave, about-face.

Hey, thanks for keeping this thread alive, Tweakhead! Thanks to all that voted to get us up to #27!! There must be some that haven't voted yet. Please vote. We need votes to get noticed.

I'm doing a session on my ProControl at the moment. It's working great, too. I want to update to PT 11 as well, as do many others that have ProControl and/or Control|24. Thank-you!

Just putting in my vote for this.

Control 24 was a big purchase for a part time hobbyist. I have built my own studio building in my back yard and have invested in several Digi/Avid products over the years.

I have not found another control surface in the price range that gives 24 faders, and the level of integration with only one Ethernet cable connection. Also the workflow is great too!

I don't think anyone has a product quite like it..See AVID you are a unique company..

I feel they have been very generous in upgrades over the past years..started on a 001 in the year 2000, now I have a 003 with Pro Tools 10.

Although I can run PT with a mouse/keyboard, I would prefer to have my worksurface for mixing, and transport, headphone cues etc..

I wonder what will happen to all this legacy gear then? Schools and Institutions could not use them, that is if they are upgrading to 11 also..keeping up with the industry?

I had an Icon owner in my studio today. He was fascinated watching me use the matrix section and was blown away that this superb feature was dropped from his Icon. He didn't even know that Pro Control support was dropped from PT 11 until I told him. Even he was outraged, and wondered aloud when his Icon would be next to get the chop.

Pro Control rules.

Just not with PT11.

Icon's just got EOL'd by avid the first part of this year....so they will be dropped in 2019. And since they are not eucon they probably won't even get past the 5 years like the pro control got.

Problem is, Diginet doesn't support all the nice things that Eucon does - wider than stereo metering for one. As Avid's new controllers are all Eucon, I wouldn't expect support to continue beyond the eol. Shame, as I really like the Icon series - it was everything the ProControl isn't.
