Maybe its my screen, but I don't fully understand the issue, or the photo. Are you in Grid mode or Slip mode?(you want Slip mode for this kind of edit). Also, be aware that you cannot drag the end(front or back) of a clip(aka "region for PT9 and older) beyond where audio exists. Maybe hit youtube.com and look at some videos on editing audio in pro tools?
