Default MOTU AVB with S6L

Anyone have any luck getting a MOTU M64 to read the S6L AVB streams? I have not been able to get it to work. Thanks

For the S3L we had to install a script that changed the number of Chanel’s per stream, Motu is 8 Chanel’s, the S3L has 32 chanels per stream, I don’t know how many Chanel’s the S6L has and if a similar script would work?!?

But there might be hope for the future with the Launch of Milan:

Answer is currently NO.

Direct from Motu

MOTU Pro Audio interfaces support 2-, 4-, 6- and 8-channel AVB streams. This provides compatibility with the Avid S3 system, but not the S3L or S6L system, which employs 16- and 32-channel streams. However, development is on-going and this might be a possibility in the future.

Take care: experimental use only:

As i said, it’s not officially supported, but I am running Motu M64 AVB device just fine with my S3L.
It had to be changed to support 8 channel streams as you can see correctly from the answer from Motu, but then it works fine.

I just don’t know what would happen if you tried the same ( probably slightly altered) script on the S6L.
Could be worth a try if you have time for a restore in case it doesn’t work.
I can hand you the script if you want to.

Again: WARNING! Just for experimenting!

Hi Karen,
I would be interested in playing in script land. Please enlighten me.

16 Chanel streams should work with Pivitec, but since they are not really there anymore we need to open up the S6L to 8 Chanel streams as we did with the S3L.

It would be great if that worked....
