Default 9.0.6 and midi

does anyone know if the midi issues (not able to edit) created in pt 9.0.5 were addressed at all in 9.0.6????????????
nothing is mentioned in the read me notes

I would like to update my waves processors to the newest version but they say they are compatible with 9.0.5-10x. and I am on 9.0.3 because 9.0.5 did not work out for me and lots of others.

Follow links to the update downloads. Avid always puts a pdf readme file there so you can see what is addressed by each update

Default Re: 9.0.6 and midi.....and waves version 9

thanks Albee, but as I said there is no mention in the read me notes of any midi fixes...................
I loaded 9.0.6 and tried.....midi seems to be working fine for me

The main reason i wanted to go past 9.0.5 was to update my waves package before my WUP expires in a few days. If you use Waves and want to update be a little aware of this: I rarely put my studio machine online but with the new system of authorizing waves, I thought I would go ahead and get it online. well all went smoothly until I removed my belkin wireless network adapter. The waves cloud system had put my liscences on the BELKIN ADAPTER....it took a few minutes to figure out what had happened
I was able to get them back off the wireless network adapter and onto the cloud again, then onto a usb drive...everything worked ok. Then I tried to move the liscences to my hard drive.....instructions online do not tell you where to put them on your hard drive. I tried putting them in my documents...no luck. I tried putting them in the waves folder....no luck. then now sit on yet another usb stick in the back of my pc so now i have the ilok, the usb drive that now authorizes Reason6 (it comes with it) and the usb for Waves. I will be calling waves in a while to see about getting the liscences onto my harddrive.

by the way, I did send waves an email to tech support yesterday and got a response within 10 minutes

I've been looking into that too!
I hear 9.0.5 has problems with sluggish MIDI... system freezes... or is that 10?

Some say it hasn't been addressed in 9.0.6, but I haven't tried either version... I'm surmising.
I just don't want to break it to fix it, and so far, there are just too many complaints for comfort!

But why would Waves 9 require 9.0.5 and up?
Can it be an issue with the iLok driver?

Maybe stick with 9.0.3... just update the iLok driver to the latest.
Would the latest driver cause issues with 9.0.3? Something to look out for.

well after 2 days I can report the the midi in 9.0.6 seems to be working just fine for me.

I use 2 video cards for 3 monitors and unfortunately this does not work with waves 9......disable one card and use 2 monitors does work though.

I was worried about this issue too. I'm still on 9.0.3 and I'd like to upgrade my waves plugins. The midi in 9.0.5 was seriously so bad which I do not understand why this would happen.

Same people say PT 10 has the same issue and I'd like to go to PT 10. I should just stick with 9.0.3.

Unhappy Re: 9.0.6 and midi

I had stable midi with 9.0.6 for a few days, but now it's all buggy..

Adjusting note start and end with smart tool or trim tool makes the whole computer stop reacting for a few seconds, often with no change to the note when PT regains consciousness.
I've found it's faster to just remove the note and draw a new one..

There's gotta be a fix for this?
I updated from 9.0.5 because of this issue, as somebody somewhere said they had no problems with 9.0.6.

I can't tell you how difficult PT 9.0.6 has been for me, concerning the very issue you describe. I couldn't even use my volume fader on my M-Audio88es, nor its mod or pitch bend without making the edit window freeze a little.

I reverted to PT 9.0.0, and I'm sticking with it for now, I might try 9.0.3 if I have any issues with anything else.
