M-Audio Fast track C600 - Spdif not working?

Hello everyone,

I have a problem with my C600. I'm trying to get the sound output from my Native Instruments S8 DJ-rig into my M-Audio Fast Track C600 via the spdif. I'm using an RCA cable with one white and one red male in both ends.

Why can't I hear any sound in either headphones or speakers? (And the software isn't showing any activity either)

I have also tried with a 75 ohms video Stereo RCA but still no luck.

Thoughts and suggestions?

Red and white RCA cables are made for consumer analog signals and are not good for SPDIF. Use a good-quality RCA cable made for digital(which your other one mentioned may be). Next, open Pro Tools and go to the IO setup page and see if the SPDIF input is on the list of available inputs(add a stereo input if its missing, or try hitting the DEFAULT button on the Inputs tab page). Next, after making SURE the NI box is set to the same sample rate as your session, go to setup>Hardware and select SPDIF as the clock source.

Can I only send clock source, not audio? I'm not sure the s8 even has its own clock, or is able to send that information
