mixdown in pt 5
this may or may not be a useful thread for those who are dissatified with the btd function, well here's what i've learned
i recall reading about people's dissatisfction with the bouce to disk sound quality. i've found bouncing realtime in a session sounds better. also using the great new (thanks digi avaiable in beta version for download on this site) hi res mixer!!!!!!!!.i use it with a pro tools 3 system and the improvement is amazing.(even with 16 bit!) bottom line using the apogee master tools to dither it to 16 bits, i then take the 2 mono pro tools files into sound designer 2.82 and mix them into one stereo file.then i can burn a cd.interestingly enough in masterlist2.2 the same file in sd II or even toast sounds better ? i don't think there would be any reason this effects the file's sound after burning i haven't tested , but why and how does masterlist's monitoring sound poor? doing exactly this (and i tried everything else for a few painful days) i finally got the final mix that jumped out of the speakers and made me so happy.and i was so bummed but this just satisfied me completely! so this is a happy thread really in praise of digi's hi res 24 bit mixer!thank you. alsoi hope this is helpful and also i'd like to thank all of you DUC users for your great tips! |
