Default TDM Users - Avoid 10.3.9 - Input Monitoring Broken

I just spent a few hours tracking this one down - turns out it's a serious bug in 10.3.9.

Input monitoring went a little crazy - unexpected behavior of record enable and input buttons. I had been using 10.3.9 for awhile (on Mavericks… but the bug also appears on ML) for awhile with no problems but today the input monitoring behavior changed. I had thought it might be some arcane preference, but it's a bug:

Fix is at post #103

Ask me why I don't want to buy any new Avid products!

Best…H

Why? :)

Seriously, it is a bug and will be fixed. Every software out there has bugs and no release is perfect.

This bug is several months old and it's on a feature (input monitoring) that is indispensable. It should have been caught in beta testing, but failing that, should have been updated within days. Months have gone by without even a comment from Avid on the issue.

Avid's unwillingness (or inability) to support their products is why I will be buying used Avid products - if I buy them at all. FWIW, I've been involved in multiple Icon purchases, many HD rigs, etc. I thought the Icon was a product line that could have been around for awhile, but it's already a dodo, replaced by new consoles that aren't as capable for music as the Icon.

Many more things I could say, but I will leave it at this: Avid's focus needs to move back towards serving their customer's needs as their number one goal.

Best…H

Avid's focus needs to move back towards serving their customer's needs as their number one goal.

That's what they're doing...it's just some folks don't understand that "their customers" is the Post market...

I do not work for Avid (their loss)...my only relationship with Avid is that of a customer (when I'm not too poor to buy stuff, like now)...and that hot administrative assistant...that's more of a "thing" than a "relationship" (that should keep them guessing for a while...)

Just rockin'...what more is there?
