Best Desktops for PTLE
Hi guys,
I'm new to the DAW world, so, sorry for interrupting you pros. I bought the alternative Allenstein system about two years ago, ASUS A7V600 MOBO AMD XP2500 Barton Micron 512Mb PC3200 Ibm/Hitachi 120Gb 7200rpm 8Mb cache drive PWRCLR Radeon 9200SE 64Mb 8X DVI Windows XP Home Edition SP1 After being long overdue, I'm about to purchase the Digi 002R unit, but I would like to know from you experienced guys, which version of PTLE would be best for my setup, seeing that 6.9 was just released. (If 6.9 can work well, would I need to upgrade the motherboard bios??) Thanks to all, your contributions to this thread are invaluable. "Newkid on the block"

Re: Best Desktops for PTLE
You should add a second hard drive for your sessions. It will give you improved performance. I got 32+5 on the DAVEC test with a very similar system. I don't recommend Hitachi drives as they have had so many problems, IBM quit selling them(Hitachi made the IBM Deskstar and now markets them under their own name).

Re: Best Desktops for PTLE
Thanks guys, I appreciate your response.
I forgot to ask if it's worth the extra bucks, buying the digi 002r "factory" unit (with the added plugins, being a newbie). One last thing, hope you all can help me here. I created this new forum in error (I'm such a novist). Can you describe exactly how do I post a message in an already existing thread, and how do I delete this created one. Thanks again.

Re: Best Desktops for PTLE
you post a message the same way you did hear. Just reply to the previous message. It doens't even really matter if you are referring to that message or not, it will get your post on that thread.
Welcome to the DUC
