How to do a Perpetual TRADE-UP from Pro Tools HD 10

Still on HD TDM here...PT 10 HD so maybe time to enter time-machine.
However it is a bit confusing with subscription vs perpetual but my simple question is this:
How to do a Perpetual TRADE-UP from Pro Tools HD 10 and where to buy?

Avid calls it a "reinstatement" of your lapsed Support and Update Plan. Problem is, Avid stopped selling that last year so you need to call your reseller and ask if there are old stock still available. And this is different than "renewal" found from web sites. And it is the only way to "upgrade" from PT10 to current version.

If you are out of luck with "reinstatement", your options are crossgrading to subscription or buy a completely new license (and keep renewing the support plan yearly).

Yes, the license itself is either perpetual or subscription. You have and will continue having a perpetual license, if you do not do a crossgrade to subscription.

With the license you need an active Support and Update Plan. You are buying a reinstatement to that plan, and will get 12 months of support and updates. You also need to renew your plan for next 12 months to keep up to date, so that you don't need to worry about reinstating the support plan again later. Renewing active plan is also much cheaper.

These two are two different things. If you let your support plan lapse, the license will keep working but you do not get updates.

Wow, that was painless and not that pricey either... I am in a positive shock...!
What happened was that the Ultimate licence became "non expiring" but the AVID Complete Plug-in Bundle will expire next year, same date as today. However I already own most of the plugins so this was almost a bargain I think. Thanks for your support JFreak.
