Using eleven rack as part of pro tools aggregated device
THIS IS MY EXAMPLE OF USING ELEVEN RACK WITH PRESONUS 16.4.2. ALL IN ONE PROTOOLS AGGREGATED DEVICE
Connection: Both Joined using a S/PDIF Cable (See an example) The cable is connected to the Out S/PDIF port from Presonus (in fact is the only one option) and go to the IN S/PDIF port in the Eleven Rack Hardware Setup After that you must slave the 11r to the 16.4.2: 1) Hold the Edit/Back button on Eleven Rack to enter User Options mode. 2) Turn the Scroll wheel to select the option Digital Clock/Input 3) Press the SW1 button to access the controls for that option. 4) Choose External 5) Press Edit/Back once to return to the User Options menu, or twice to exit User Options mode. You can verify all this at pag. 91 of the Eleven Rack User Manual Software Setup: PART A): Configure the Agregate Device. There are many guides. I recommend this one: PT Agregate Device I just want to mention that the Eleven Rack should be the First in the chain, specially if you are using any "non HD" edition of Pro tools (Because the limitations of the numbers of Inputs which only “see” the first 32 inputs of your Aggregate Device. From 32th Input to beyond will be useless. PART B): Configure the DAW 1) Go to Setup>Playback Engine and Choose the Agregated Device 2) Click Ok 3) Go to Setup>I/O window. 3.1) Click the Output tab and Delete all the entries there one by one then click once on Default. 3.2) Click the Input tab and Delete all the entries there one by one then click once on Default.
