Re: 6.1 Rewire REASON Midi problem
Yeah, that makes sense. The problem I'm having now, is that ProTools isn't receiving MIDI from the Q10. Forgedabout reason and rewire... now when I load a new PTLE session and create a MIDI track, while the Q10 is an option as an input, I can't get any signal from the keyboard... i.e. PTLE isn't actually receiving the notes...

Re: 6.1 Rewire REASON Midi problem
Well, I hooked up an AMT 8 to my computer and that seems to have resolved the problem... Reason can use the AMT 8 while PT is locked via rewire...
anyone else out there w/ an aardvark q10 having midi probs w/ ptle? |

Re: 6.1 Rewire REASON Midi problem
Make sure that MIDI Thru in the MIDI menu is checked.
BTW - What Digi hardware are you using? Rail

6.1 Rewire REASON Midi problem
Just got 6.1 from the mailman 30 minutes ago. Oh, oh. It is GLORIOUS.
But I am having a problem and hopefully someone can help... When i get reason going via the rewire plugin, as soon as reason launches, it says that it's having problems with the MIDI device. In my case, the MIDI input on my PC is an Aardvark Q10. For whatever reason, ProTools is "hogging" or "stealing" access to the midi port. When I run Cubase SX, I simply deselect the Q10 -which I use for audio- as a MIDI device and it allows REASON to take it. ProTools seems to be stealing the MIDI ports on the Q10 and not allowing reason to use them. Does anyone have any ideas that might lead to PTLE ignoring the Q10 and thus freeing it for Reason? thanks:) |

Re: 6.1 Rewire REASON Midi problem
I believe you're meant to create a MIDI track inside Pro Tools and send that to Reason.. so your Q10 should be usable as a MIDI device in in Pro Tools.

Re: 6.1 Rewire REASON Midi problem
Hey Guys,
Thanks for all the help. I'm using an Mbox here at the home studio... so no direct MIDI via digi hardware. At this point, I think I've narrowed it down to a problem with the Aardvark driver interacting w/ Protools w/ the MIDI port on the Aardvark. Using the AMT 8 has resolved the issue... so looks like I'm golden now. Thanks again... X-man |
