Default Starting recording in the middle of a measure

Excuse my ignorance, but does ProTools First have the ability to begin recording in the middle of a measure or on a specific beat of the measure? Because so far, it seems I only can get it to start recording at the beginning of a measure.

Use Quick Punch Mode it will start recording wherever the cursor is when you press the record button. Also make sure you are in Slip Mode (F2) if you want to be able to move between the grid bars

Awesome! Thanks. I never had the time to sit down and learn the complete functionality of Pro Tools First.

Is there any way to get ProTools do display a line on each beat, as opposed to just each measure? That would make it easier to place the cursor exact where it needs to be.

Grid mode(F4) and grid value. I suggest spending some time on youtube watching some "getting started with pro tools" videos as that will get you up and running much faster than coming here for every question(seeing it in action beats reading about it)
