The OP started out talking about the UM225/226, so it technically qualifies. But it has evolved into something else.

Yeah it got off track a bit. Problems is when people start perpetuating unsubstantiated myths, some of us feel we have to clarify.

Not because we get petty, but because there maybe others out there, newbies, that may be interested investing in certain types of software and if they were to come across a thread that was misleading in anyway, then it may ultimately have an affect on the outcome for them.

So, sometimes, corrections need to be made. Unfortunately, it may take a few posts in order to do that.

But YES it's best we get back on topic. The unfortunate thing about this topic, is it was brought back from the dead, 2009. So I guess we should make this about any current (2015) concerns with Waves or it's products in relation to post-production??

That would be in keeping on topic.

Feel free to voice your concerns, I guess...

If you connect the iLok to one of these, you'll never ever loose or misplace it. Plus makes it harder to steal too.

The little keychain loop connector on the end of the iLok2 is pretty fragile. If somebody wanted to yank it out of your pocket and off that chain - they could. but I agree it's better than nothing.

I doubt he was serious about using a grade 30 steel chain to secure an iLok.
