Default Mackie Control Opinions?

Does any one here use the Mackie Control with PTLE? If so, what is your opinion of it? Have you used the Extender as well?

I’m curious about this as well. I’m about to upgrade from the 001 and while the 002 looks good I think I’d rather have the 002r and an expandable control surface option. Mackie Control, with an expansion, is the way I’m leaning but I’d like to hear from someone that has actually used it and can report on its functionality.

I now upgraded my Mackie Control to Mackie Control EVERYTHING!!. Logic Plat, Cubase SX, PT LE 6.1, etc.. (yes, I actually paid for the software!) and it also controls, Sonar, Samplitude, SAW, Cakewalk Audio, Cool Edit Pro, etc..

It's the best thing I've ever bought!

I've been using it with PT as well, and it is SOOOO fast! There is nothing better than banking through and turning a fader down by hand. Complete control. The audio scrub with the scrub wheel is AWESOME!! (something the 002 DOESN'T have, a scrub wheel).

Adjusting send levels, even adding inserts and plugins are all done through the Mackie Control. Saving, undo, separate, cut, even adjusting your selecting (either the selection beginning OR end) can be done just with the scrub wheel (which actually acts a multitude of ways, scrub audio is just one of the functions).

Tab to transients, selecting tracks...you name it, you can do it with the Mackie Control.

I could go on forever, but best bet to rent one for a week and try yourself!

cheers
