Oh yes, nothing can touch the level of stability they reached there.

Seriously, on the new ones 2019.5 on Mojave 10.14.6 (although not supported) has been rock solid.

I haven't had a single crash with 10.14.6 and 2019.12, but i have had some occasional cpu spikes.. it's no big deal, besides the usual bugs it's rock solid.. I would say just stay on Mojave if you can cause pro tools and everything else will work on it for the foreseeable future.. Mojave is metal so even if Avid make PT true metal it should still work on Mojave, but then it won't work on anything prior.. I hate Catalina so this is why it works out that mojave is the best "jack of all trades" IMHO right now, for any kind of music making.

I'm having good performance/stability with 2019.12/10.14.6. PT 9/10 and whatever OS was the norm back then was probably the pinnacle of stability but PT also did a lot less back then.

I honestly don't know how I could live without offline commit/freeze, that would have stopped me using PT altogether and I have no idea how ya'll put up with it for so long. I mean that's a major part of my workflow to keep cpu in check at all times and be able to make really large projects.. just the thought of bouncing track by track in realtime.. horrible!

Same with ADC.. and it's still too low as it is at 16/32K

Did PT10 have ADC yet? Just curious. Sorry for the OT..

I came in at V11 and I was instantly hooked that very same night I tried the demo, so I guess I came in just at the right time.

Yep, but for HD systems only.

Version 9 is when it also became available for native systems, formerly known as LE versions.
