ADAT optical to my Digi002R with PTLE 7.3.1

Please help how to setup. I can't get my Sony DAT Model TCD-D8 to send ADAT optical to my Digi002R.

I'm using the Adat Optical to run my Roland BR-8 into my Pro Tools 002r (LE). I have changed the setting for the optical port to SPDIF, and the clock source to external optical.. There are 2 inputs on the BR-8 and I can get the signal to the 002 and record them But i have not been able to figure out a way to seperate the two inputs from the BR-2 into two different tracks. I am trying to expand my input capability and have been told that this is an option. I feel like I'm just setting up the I/O's wrong or something. anyone have any suggetions?
