Default PT 10 unable to find Audio Interface attached to the first HD card

Hi there,

I'm using a Pro Tools 10 HD 3Accel system, with an SSL Alpha-Link MADI interface through a Mac Pro G5 running OSX 10.6.8

Here's the deal: everything was working absolutely fine until one day last week when the system decided to show this dialogue when starting up:

"Unable to find an Audio Interface attached ti the first HD card..."

Now, as far as i know, nothing has changed with the set-up for quite some time, so it seems odd that this error suddenly appeared... I've checked everything i could think of (changing the digi-link cables, checking the flex-cables, definitely connected correctly, as it has been for ages!) plus a few other internet ideas such as booting in 32bit mode, but no luck at all.

I've run the Digitest which correctly identifies the cards in their slots but, weirdly, won't detect the Audio I/Os (even when clicking 're-detect') to allow firmware updates, although i managed to update Sync HD absolutely fine.

This is driving me nuts and i really need to sort this out problem out as soon as ossible. Does anyone have any idea what might be the matter?

Thanks!

We've got an SSL C200 console in our HDTV truck and were getting this error a lot, too. We're not using the Alpha Link, but the Delta Link which takes 128-IO of MADI from the console and converts it to 4-Digilink cables that plug into 2-HDX cards. If this ever pops up all we have to do is cycle power on the Delta Links and everything's OK. Have you tried that?

Have you sent an email to SSL? It's not doing it as frequently with HDX as it used to with our HD4 system before we upgraded.

Thanks for your reply Eric. I've tried cycling the power but still encounter the same error. I haven't contacted SSL yet but it's a good suggestion so I certainly will.

Fingers crossed they can shed some light as this is getting desperate!
