Issues with Fast Track Solo
Greetings,
I purchased Pro Tools 10 a while ago and was initially using the TASCAM US-1800 audio interface. A few days ago, the interface stopped working after recording audio for a song and would not allow me to reload the drivers. Frustrated that I could not get any support, I decided to purchase a Steinberg CI1 audio interface, but ended up taking it back after it played clicks, pops, and stuttering audio. I ended up returning the interface and purchased the Avid Fast Track Solo. After installing the drivers, I opened up a project that played fine for about 30 seconds before blasting static through the speakers. Sigh. Since then I've reinstalled drivers, reinstalled Pro Tools, switched USB ports and cables, disabled programs running in the background, and even tried drinking a beer while watching "How to Get Away with Murder." Admittedly, I haven't updated my PT version because 1.) it took almost a week to get it working with the TASCAM US-1800, and 2.) the computer running Pro Tools isn't connected to the Internet because there's an issue with the wireless adapter...basically, there isn't one. Has someone experience this issue and found a solution? Oh yeah...I'm also aggravated that I can't contact customer support without having to fork over more money, but I suppose there's a really good reason for that... |

Re: Issues with Fast Track Solo
Hey JoelG does fast track duo work with maverick? Gonna use this to record while out of the studio on my new MacBook Pro 15". But if it doesn't work I'll probably have to get a new small interface that works.

Re: Issues with Fast Track Solo
Yes, it should work fine with Mavericks. The FT Duo is a class compliant device and does not need drivers downloaded to work with Macs.

Re: Issues with Fast Track Solo
Guess the problem accures at my studio to, when the iLok and FastTrack "Control" software is not open, and the same if the interfaces is crashing with another sound device on the OS/iOS. Try to activate only the avid hardware, and try to make sure the iLok is online (you need internet connection) Hope it helps, couse my eardrums really almost popped a couple times!
