Default PT 7.4 problems

I can confirm the "hidden" color feature "bug"... but more importantly...
doing fades and other operations (like gain or other audiosuite plugs) while playing often results in PT stopping with a -9073 error. Same set as 7.3 of course and I didn't have this problem on 7.3. I'm on a Mac G5 Dual 2.5 6G RAM Mac OS 10.4.9, HW buffer size 256, RTAS 1 processor, CPU 99%, DAE Playback buffer 2, cache size normal. Tried to set playback buffer to Level 4 instead of 2, cache to large, same results.
Also, saving a session and then closing it seems to cause PT to hang on the "Closing session... Region list" dialog. This seems to happen especially (or only...) on sessions with Elastic Audio files.
Anyone ?

Yes, fortunately it's all saved, but still, it's annoying...

Curious if the -9073's are occurring on real-time EA tracks? Try opening the Task Manager when encountering these and note if any background tasks are in progress. (Like "analyzing files" - which comes as new task with 7.4 placing/creating new un-analyzed audio files on EA-enabled tracks).

Thanks for linking me in! I hae the same 9073 error couldnt get audio from drives fast enough. Im on a brand new macbook dual 3.0 quad core with 8 gig ram 1 internal system, 2 internal audio drives and 1 internal video drive. The drive im using is brand new sata internal. its a 5.1 session 193 tracks 1 core card 3 accel's in an hd expansion chassis. I had no problems in 7.3.1 cs5 other than PT being sluggy as far as zooming and moving around and the like, but no actual playback issues.

After reading this thread, I rebooted the system and skipped all the relink promtps. I moved to different spots in the timeline and hit play and after the fourth time it popped up the error. I have no tasks running or paused or the like in my task manager.

I also tried this in a smaller stereo session running off of firewire drives and it worked fine, I then copied that session onto my internal drive and it works fine.

Im guessing my session is huge and might be putting too much of a strain on the one drive, How big is the session you are using?

Tim, no it doesn't happen on EA files. What happens with the task window open is that I do the fade while playing, PT stops, hangs for some seconds then it displays the message "can't get audio fast..." and at the same time in the task window I see it calculating fades overviews. It doesn't happen all the time of course but quite often.

Shockwave, mine is a quite average session, 24bit 44.1, 20 stereo audio tracks, 12 mono, no virtual instruments, 10 stereo auxes, 20-25 eq/comp plugs, couple stereo reverb plugs. Fades I'm performing are on single mono tracks. I'm on a HD3 Accel.

Is it possible that 7.4 with no EA is quite heavier on the CPU than 7.3 ?

I am getting -9073's now too. Doing a simple fade while playing back. Never had that happen in 7.3.1. Elastic is off.
