Bizarre behavior- imported audio plays at 1/2 speed

I have been having an issue with all of the audio apps on my Mac- iTunes, PT and Logic will occasionally(not always and impossible to precipitate) play back at 1/2 or sometimes double speed, and iTunes will do that and seemingly damage the audio quality as well. I found an article from 2010 about an inter-compatibility issue relating to a corrupt CoreAudio driver but I cannot find an installer for PT 10 & 11 and Mac OS 10.10 which is what I'm running.

96Khz tracks on 48Khz session and/ or vice versa?

I have checked all the resolutions- everything plays properly in QuickTime- it just gets messed up in iTunes, PT and Logic. It is imported mixes that I am working on- not commercial cds

Not an issue of session resolution. These are brand new sessions and ones I have been working on for months without issues. It would seem to be a system-wide issue

Ok. Did you check the clock source on the sound pref pane? Sorry just asking the simple stuff first as 99% of the problems are due to something fairly mundane.

Out of curiosity, is there any other obvious benefit for you using 10.10?
