<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Did you even read James Lutley's statement?? He said the dual 2GHz G5 only accepted PCI-X cards. So there was a single person here who said PCI-X was NOT backward compatible. Reading is Fundamental!! (RIF)

OK, my bad. It appears that there was a G5 running Pro Tools HD at the WWDC (presumably a beta version of Pro Tools running in Mac OS X 10.2.7) so the Dual 2GHz G5 will accept current HD cards in the PCI-X slots. However, my main point was that as the PCI-X technology will be available in the G5’s, I wouldn’t be surprised if Digidesign takes advantage of this in the near future.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">yeah.. just like they jumped on the firewire bandwagon.....
or the affordable timecode-capable system bandwagon.....

they ain't gonna do a damn thing... except take our money and wait as long as possible to give us what we ask for. I bet their next move is to make MixPlus systems obsolete in 10.3.. now THAT would be the digi we know and love.

They won't do PCI-X until EVERYONE else has done it first.

me=troll

/end rant
