mp3 option initialization failed mp3dll??????

I purchased a 003 rack factory new with the mp3 option as well. I went to use the mp3 option and it said " mp3 option cannot be enabled because module initialization failed for mp3dll. mp3 demo period may have expired." I have my serial number and went to authorize it manually and typed in the numbers then this messag popped up again. What do I do to get the mp3 option working??? Thanks

Did you choose to install the mp3 option when you installed ProTools? I didn't at first, and got the same message as you. I went back and installed it, typed in the serial, and now it works fine.

Had the same problem exactly with the 003+mptk. after using the serial was stuck with mp3.dll missing....

solved it by going to the control pannel uninstall PT, restart and reinstall PT.

dont worry about installed plugins they will stay... just the PT (reinstall with the option...dah )

when I did, it came back up with mp3 option working without asking for the serial

Maaaaan. Seems like every time I post a problem here my pro tools fixes itself without me doing anything further?? The mp3 option is working now even though I did not re-install pro tools. Go figure. Thanks for the advice though.
