Default Midi volume

Dear members,

i know this is a real amateuristic question and i know alot of people are going to think: get a google cursus

lol, i really tried searching the internet but could find the right search words.

I just want to know how to switch of the dynamics in PT for my MIDI controller. For example when i play my drums on my keyboard i want the volume to be at 80% and not based on the pressure i put on the keys.

Thanks

The Midi Volume can be controled in the Automation, Use the Automation Midi Volume and control the volume from there.

Ok thanks, but that is an afterwards step right? Isn't there a button i can switch off/on so when i hit a key on my keyboard it stays at one volume. When i press a key on my keyboard very slightly the volume is about 10 and when i press harder the volume is louder. I want to turn that off

So you want to turn off the Velocity Sensitivity. Open Pro Tools, Go to Event--Event Operations--Change Velocity-- Turn The Note On to Off... I'M note sure why you would want to do this? With Midi Velocity Sensitivity Off your notes are going to be Flat and without any expression.

Sometimes you can adjust this in the midi controller itself. For example, the M-Audio Axiom series will let you do this.

Thanks man! I know it's going to sound flat but i'm only switching it off for my drums, my drums need to be pumped out loud

ps. i just tried it out and actually the sensivity isn't off. It only applies it to the region.

When i play my keyboard the sensivity is switched on again. Am i doing something wrong?

Then you'll have to do what nst7 said, maybe there is a setting on your MIDI controller to change that?

What program/VI are you using for your drums? Some of the programs allow you to do this in the VI itself. ie, I just got Battery 3, and I'm pretty sure I saw in one of the tutorials you could definitely do this in that program. Don't know about some of the others.

Actually, i'am using battery 3. In the setup windows you can click the fix button to fix the velocity.

Still i would like to know how to do this with other VST's like mini grand etc..
If anyone knows, please tell me

(before PT i was using FL Studio. In FL Studio you just had to check a box in the settings and the velocity was fixed. Im pretty sure this also HAS to be possible with PT)
