Need Help- Mute Automation Question
Question: Is there a way to drop a mute into absolute(Write) without changing the state of the mute?
The track is unmuted, and there is a mute coming up in the automation, but I want to drop the mute into Absolute(Write) before the mute comes up so it stays open instead of muting. (On an analogue console it would be match mute absolute). I am using an Avid S6 with Pro tools ultimate 2020. All recent software updates on all platforms are up to date.

Re: Need Help- Mute Automation Question
2 ideas:
1-delete any/all Mute automation on the track. 2-turn automation off on that track(handy if you have automation you want, but you want to suspend it for now)

Need Help- Mute Automation Question
Dropping into write mode would keep the mute in whatever state it’s in. Just be sure that muting is the only automatable parameter enabled for writing.

Re: Need Help- Mute Automation Question
Just trying to give you options. For MUTE automation, to me, its just easier to show the automation lane and use the mouse to make changes

Re: Need Help- Mute Automation Question
Yeah, this is a workaround. The only problem is that you have to do the extra step of making sure all other automation is not enabled to write.
