Default Decklink HD extreme certified for PT

Has someone seen this?

http://www.blackmagic-design.com/dow...Digidesign.pdf

Will this again just funktion as a second (or third) desktop on video screen just like the apple-adapter? Or will this become the new "miro/fuse" ?

Frank.

I believe the Intensity card is also certified. (Not Intensity Pro, though) It's $250.

This is fantastic news. By officially supporting it, I'm going to go ahead and assume that it will function like the Aurora.

Way to go Digi!

Wait and see. At the moment the decklink simply outputs the mac desktop over a video screen just like the apple-adapter so unlike the aurora/miro.

Yes, it will work similarly to how the Aurora or Miro cards used to. With Pro Tools 8, support will be for Mac systems only. We hope to offer Windows support in the future.

Will it be OK to use a Decklink HD extreme card with HD Accel cards or a Chassis?

Yes, you can use with HD Accel and a chassis, however the Blackmagic card must go in the CPU.

The Blackmagic DeckLink HD Extreme is recommend for those who wish to output high quality QuickTime HD (or SD) video via HD-SDI, HDMI, or analog outputs. The Intensity offers HDMI only. Capture can be accomplished outside of Pro Tools via FCP or Blackmagic's Deck Control software.

Advantages of Mojo, Mojo SDI, and AVoption|V10 are that they support video capture directly to the PT timeline (when used with PT HD), and playback of all SD Avid video resolutions and QuickTime. However, no HD support. For HD Avid video workflows, Media Composer Video Satellite with Pro Tools 8 is the way to go.

I'm thrilled with the news about Digi supporting Decklink cards!

How good is the sync with HD Extreme + Sync I/O + blackburst/tri-sync generator compared to just having Intensity? Drift?

I have hd2 and Sync I/O, do I need to get Sync HD (and tri-sync generator) in order to get HD QT's?

What about general PT audio performance with HD QT-files?
