Google, using boot camp on Mac....and basically have another hard drive backed up (i.e. Cloned) ready to put back in your system should things go sideways

Related question -- PT 12.4 on Yosemite is not recognizing 3rd party plugins:

I just upgraded OS X to Yosemite 10.10.5, and installed PT 12.4 (from previous 11.3.1).

The new Pro Tools 12.4 does not find/recognize my 3rd party plugins - including WAVES, Melodyne, and others.
All the plugs are 64 bit AAX, and worked just fine with PT 11.3.1.

I figure I've just missed something obvious, but having not found an answer yet, does anyone have suggestions on how to set PT 12.4 so it can see 3rd party plugs?

Good idea. As it turned out, I backtracked through the steps I'd taken to manually uninstall PT 11.3.1 before installing PT 12.4, and discovered I had moved my 3rd party plugins. I put the plugins back where they belong in Macintosh HD>Library>Application Support>Avid>Audio>Plug-ins, and that fixed the problem (as usual, self created problem). Thanks for the trash preferences and databases option - I've made note of it, as it'll likely be useful down the road.
