Eleven Rack Edit Window PT 11 WHEN???

I'd like a edit window yesterday. One for Christmas would make me happy. One for thanksgiving would make me happier.

There's been no update from Avid regarding a time frame. Benoni and have both asked for info a few times hoping for a update. But we haven't heard a thing.

Hi guys.

I am purchasing the 11r in the near future.

I notice that it comes with PT11 now. (at least it says so at SweetWater)
But I noticed that PT11 doesn't have the 11r gui...

This would be my sole purpose of getting the 11r with protools, to use PT solely as gui for the 11r, while I work in a separate DAW.

If I buy PT11 (that comes with the 11r) without ever owning PT before, will I be able to (FOR FREE) download a previous version (some version of PT10) that 11r gui does work with?
If not, and I would have to pay for a working version of the Gui, in another PT... Then I will just get the 11r without PT, or the hassle.

I would much rather a stand alone gui. (there is no technical reason why that cannot be done)

We would aal like a standalone editor. You may not know this but any ProTools purchase now comes with a combo license asset for both PT10 and PT11. This allows you to have both versions on the same computer at the same time. You'll actually have a couple of downloads: PT10, PT 11, and the Avid instruments if you so desire to use them should you ever want to use Pro Tools.

Actually, No I did not know that when I purchase the 11rack that I get PT10, and PT11. Thanks for the info!

One question, can I have only PT10 installed without PT11? Or would I need PT11 installed to use PT10?
EDIT: I just talked with my Sweet Water Sales Engineer, and he confirmed for me that it is a combo license, that I can have just PT10 installed, without PT11.

Yeah, you can just install PT10 or install both PT10 and PT11.

We simply must have an 11R editor in Pro Tools 11. It's become essential to my workflow. If Avid really wants to phase it out then at least give us a separate 11R editor program for Mac and PC - not ideal, but I could live with that. This opening PT 10 to edit on the 11R on your computer is ridiculous now that many of us are fully invested in PT 11.

I know I've posted a similar thought in other older threads on this same subject but I'm thinking there's major problems with the code for the 11R window integrating it into PT 11 that Avid can't solve. I'm thinking they might just do it as a standalone aax plugin instead. But that still wouldn't fulfill the wishes of many for a true standalone editor.

Heck no - I just got the eleven rack not too long ago and I love that window very handy very powerful

A definite competitor to NI's guitar rig especially when considering the price point
