Default Re: Pro Tools HD Native PCIE or Thunderbolt

And there is footage of a Windows Lenovo S430 laptop running HDN TB and recording multiple tracks from a Venue with no issues, and no special drivers. All TB / LP is, is a PCIe extension cable.

As ever with Apple, the motto should be, "Don't believe the hype".

However I'll say this---if you ever had to re-sell it, I don't see the value in the cards lasting the way they do in the Thunderbolt. These days I'm selling more Thunderbolt systems than the cards, because they can be used on iMac's, Laptops, etc.
Pc's with thunderbolt have been available since 2011!! Please don't push this false information/apple hype!

I was not aware that any PC's have thunderbolt on them---that's the first I've heard (and been told) this is the case. I would hope that Windows would integrate Thunderbolt, but I have yet to see it anywhere.

At a recent 11 demo, the clinician said that RAIN computers are offering a TB option. Unfortunately, their website makes no mention(trying to find an approved TB card to add to my PC for the future).

I don't think there'll ever be a TB card as such, as afaik it does rely on an Intel chipset. There are motherboards available with it already though.

Neil Hester's pro tools PC has 2 TB ports on it and I know multiple laptop brands have had TB for quite a long time.

Don't believe everything your Apple reseller tells you.
