Default Re: 12.8.2 and Midi : more disappointment.

This was of course only a patch release, so honestly I'm surprised to see so many little features added in it.

I'm still hoping that 12.9 might actually be the big MIDI improvement they've been talking about, but we shall see.

I'm not massively optimistic, but there's still some hope.

Easy to say that. You talk like a reflex.

I'm aiming for MIDI. Pro Tools is strong in audio. Ordinary in MIDI. I would like my DAW to be good on both counts. And all other DAWs are better than Pro Tools in MIDI. So, disapointment.

Whats reflex about it? It is reality, so it is easy to say. If they were so much better, you would be using them instead. We would all love everything all at once, but it don't work that way. We got some new features, which would lead me to believe more are to come. Seems rather odd to complain about new features that you want...

My hope is the timing for 12.9 is off. Can't see why they'd wish to show up at the AES in New York with so little to show off.

I do not understand (my English is not very good). Hopefully there are MIDI developments coming in 12.9? Before the end of this year?

That's why I don't fight that battle. Logic/Reaper for midi, mix in Pro Tools.

It's really that simple.

Of course, I'd love to be able to do it all in PT, but I'm not sure we'll see that in our life time. For midi users/composers - compose with something else, export the audio and mix in Tools. Save yourself the aggravation.

Very wise. You find that Reaper is good in MIDI? I am in an analysis.
